October 18, 2014 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Lone Star Brahmas News Release

The Lone Star Brahmas traveled to Amarillo to take on the Bulls in a two game set starting Friday evening. Lone Star entered the game on a three game win streak while the Bulls had not won since their final game of the NAHL Showcase Tournament, a span of five games.

Things got off to a rough start for the visiting Brahmas as Amarillo built a two goal lead in the first and out shot Lone Star 12 - 4 in the period. The Bulls' first goal came at the 5:34 mark as JJ Huerena knocked the puck loose in the neutral zone and Addison Runey hit Tristan Rostagno with a pass along the far boards. Rostagno who is on the NHL Central Scouting Watch List took it from there. He drove down the left wing side a fired a wrister from the faceoff dot that beat TJ Black blocker side. Cody Gylling netted the next goal on the power play at 17:33 after taking a cross ice pass from Rusian Rakhmatov in the near circle. Gylling's onetimer found the back of the net over Black's glove. Kasper Emanuelsson picked up the secondary assist on the play which chased Black from net.

The Brahmas came out of the first intermission with a little more purpose and pulled within one on a power play goal of their own. Hayden Hanson got the ball rolling when he sent the puck from the point to Mercyhurst commit Ludvig Larsson at the top of the far circle. Anton Martinsson made the save on Larsson, but gave up a juicy rebound that Eric Carreras jumped on before Martinsson could recover. Time of the goal was 12:57.

Unfortunately for the Brahmas that was as close as they would get despite out shooting the Bulls 25 - 12 over the final two periods. Amarillo who entered the game as the second most penalized team in the league handed Lone Star several opportunities, but the Brahmas went 1 - 6 on the power play while the Bulls were 1 - 2. With the 39 minutes in penalties they picked up in the game the Bulls have moved to 272 minutes to lead the league and forward Connor Wood holds the top spot individually with 58.
