Niagara IceDogs News Release
Two goals from Tyler Bertuzzi sank the Niagara IceDogs, as they lost 3-2 to the Guelph Storm Friday night in Guelph.
Despite five power play opportunities for the IceDogs, the Storm scored the only goal of the first period. Tyler Bertuzzi beat Brent Moran off an odd-man rush to give his team the lead at 5:47 of the first period.
The IceDogs were able to tie it up at the 7:02 mark of the second period when Cody Payne's wrist shot found its way through Storm goalie Justin Nichols. In his first game back from injury, Robby Fabbri answered for the Storm on the power play.
Aaron Haydon tied the game, his second goal in two games, with an absolute rocket from the point that eluded Nichols. A late penalty called on Mikkel Aagaard led to a power play goal for Bertuzzi, which was enough to give the Storm the 3-2 win.
The IceDogs are back in action tomorrow night, when they host the Sudbury Wolves at the Meridian centre.
