Holland (6-2, 190, Chowan) joins the shock for his inaugural season as a member of the Arena Football League after completing his collegiate career at Chowan University in Hampton, VA. Holland most recently spent time with the Canadian Football League's Calgary Stampeders.

Holland completed his collegiate career as Chowan's all-time leading receiver with school records in nine categories. He owns records for single season receptions (86), single season receiving yards (1,318), career receptions (325), career receiving yards (4,356), career touchdowns (43), career points (276), single game receiving yards (278), single game receptions (18), and tied the single game receiving touchdowns record (4). Additionally, Holland's 325 career receptions is a NCAA Division II record. He was also named to the All-CIAA team four times over the course of his career and received CIAA Player of the Year honors twice.

"It's rare that you come across a receiver as accomplished and decorated as Robert was during his collegiate career," said Shock Head Coach Andy Olson. "He shows great potential, catches everything that comes his way, and is a strong route runner. We're looking forward to seeing him in Training Camp."
