Andrew Johnston Reassigned to Phantoms

Lehigh Valley, PA - The Philadelphia Flyers, parent club of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, have announced that forward Andrew Johnston has been reassigned from the Reading Royals of the ECHL to the Phantoms effective immediately.
Andrew Johnston, 23 (7/6/1991), is a third-year pro from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan who has played in 36 career games for the Phantoms registering two goals and three assists. Last year he played in seven games for the Phantoms after spending the bulk of the season with the Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL where he played in 50 games scoring four goals and 15 assists for 19 points. Johnston also played 18 games for Trenton of the ECHL in 2012-13 scoring three goals and eight assists.
For his combined totals, Johnston has played in 104 professional games in the past two seasons and has scored nine goals and 26 assists for 35 points.
Johnston signed with the Flyers organization in the summer of 2012 after helping lead the Humboldt Broncos to an Anavet Cup Title in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League that spring. In his breakout season in juniors, Johnston scored 29-52-81 in 56 regular-season games for Humboldt in 2011-12 and then registered another 10 goals in the postseason.
A new era of Phantoms hockey begins Friday night when the Lehigh Valley Phantoms kick off their Inaugural Season at PPL Center. In honor of Opening Night, the Phantoms will be hosting an "Orange Out" where all fans in attendance will receive a free orange shirt! Shirts will be waiting for fans at their seats and all fans are encouraged to wear their commemorative shirts throughout Friday's game in support of the Phantoms.
