Stockton Announces Opening Night Roster

Stockton, Calif - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's New York Islanders and AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, announce the 19-men who will start the team's 10th Anniversary Season on the Opening Night Roster.

Forwards (11) : Tyler Maxwell, Jack MacLellan, James Henry, Tyler Shattock, Ryan Hayes, Robin Soudek, Jessey Astles, Garet Hunt, Mike Pereira*, Lukas Sutter*, Peter Sivak*

Defenseman (6): Brad Stebner, Keith Seabrook*, Adam Phillips*, Ryan Constant, Shawn Boutin, Loic Leduc**

Goaltenders (2): Philippe Trudeau*, Shane Owen

* - Loaned from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers

** - Loaned from the New York Islanders

Four players on the Thunder's Opening Night Roster have been drafted by the NHL including Keith Seabrook (2006, 2nd Round, 52 Overall, Washington Capitals), Tyler Shattock (2009, 4th Round, 108 Overall, St. Louis Blues), Loic Leduc (2012, 4th Round, 103 Overall, New York Islanders) and Lukas Sutter (Drafted twice, 2012, 2nd Round, 39 Overall, Winnipeg Jets and again 2014, 7th Round, 200 Overall, New York Islanders).

Five players return from last season including four that were on the Opening Night Roster for the 2013-14 season. Garet Hunt, Ryan Constant, Ryan Hayes and Shawn Boutin return along with Brad Stebner who signed an amateur tryout with the Thunder last season after finishing his career with Michigan Tech.

The Thunder dress two new goalies between the pipes as Philippe Trudeau comes to the Thunder via a loan from the Sound Tigers while Shane Owen returns to the ECHL after a stellar season with the former Central Hockey League team, the Missouri Mavericks. Owen has played 45 games in the ECHL along with a single AHL game while Trudeau has suited up in four professional games, all with the Sound Tigers last season.

Peter Sivak comes to the Thunder by way of a loan from the Sound Tigers. After coming to North America during the 2012-13 season suiting up for the San Francisco Bulls, Sivak joined the Alaska Aces last season and won a Kelly Cup with the team. Sivak comes back to California to suit up for the Central Valley side he's had his best success against. Of his 131 ECHL games, the Czech native has played 18 games against the Thunder registering a personal best 13 goals and 15 assists against the Thunder.

The Thunder open up the season on the road against the Bakersfield Condors on Friday and Saturday, both games beginning at 7:00 p.m. The team returns to open up Stockton Arena on Sunday, October 19 at 4:00 p.m. with arena doors opening at 3:00 p.m. The first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive Thunder magnetic schedules.
