Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons will return to The Nest this Saturday, Oct. 18 when they host the Hershey Bears at 7 p.m. at the MassMutual Center for the 2014-15 Home Opener presented by MGM Springfield.
The home opener will feature an opening ceremony and raising of the 2013-14 Northeast Division Champions banner. Players will be welcomed back to The Nest with a full team introduction and an opening video highlighting the previous season.
Additionally, the first 2,000 fans in attendance will receive a commemorative 2013-14 Northeast Division Champions banner rally towel, courtesy of MGM Springfield.
Along with the opening ceremony, fans will have the opportunity to purchase new merchandise in the Falcons store, including shirts, jackets, hats and pucks along with novelty items.
On June 13, MGM Springfield received the unanimous vote of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, and the first approval of a casino license in the Commonwealth. MGM Springfield, an approximately $800 million resort, is slated for 14.5 acres of land between Union and State streets, and Columbus Avenue and Main Street. The Springfield Falcons visit the Syracuse Crunch Oct. 17 before returning to the MassMutual Center for the home opener against the Hershey Bears on Oct. 18. Ticket packages are on sale now.
