October 15, 2014 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Red Deer Rebels News Release

The Rebels and Victoria Royals both game into this game at the Enmax Centrium looking to rebound from tough losses on Saturday.

FIRST PERIOD

The Rebels played perhaps their best period of the season to start this one, blazing out to an early 4-0 lead.

Adam Musil opened the scoring parade just 47 seconds into the game with his fourth goal of the season. Scott Feser added his second of the campaign 1:59 later on a Rebels powerplay. Wyatt Johnson made it 3-0 at 10:04 with his third of the year. Grayson Pawlenchuck netted his third at 15:46, sending his team to the intermission with a huge lead.

SECOND PERIOD

The Royals scored the lone goal of the middle period while shorthanded. Brandon Fushimi deked out Rylan Toth for his second goal of the year to send this game to the second intermission at 4-1.

THIRD PERIOD

Victoria took full control of the game in the third period on their way to tying this affair at 4-4. Austin Carroll, Matthew Campese and Jack Walker each found the back of the net for the Royals to stun the Rebels and their home fans.

Austin Strand gave the Rebels a brief reprieve from the Royals storm when his seeing-eye point shot found the back of the net for his first WHL goal at 12:32. Red Deer led the game 5-4.

But, with the goalie pulled, Axel Blomqvist found a loose puck and found the back of the net for the game tying 5-5 goal at 19:03, setting the stage for overtime.

OVERTIME

Tyler Soy capped off the stunning Royals comeback, scoring 1:09 into the extra frame for a 6-5 Victoria win.
