RICHMOND RAIDERS ANNOUNCE 2015 SEASON SCHEDULE PIFL expands again as Raiders enter 6th season The Richmond Raiders and the Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) are excited to announce the 2015 game schedule. The Raiders begin the season on the road March 29 against the Columbus Lions. The Raiders' home opener will be on April 4, when the Alabama Hammers come to town. That game kicks off a three game homestand that also includes Columbus April 11 and the Trenton Freedom April 17. The twelve game regular season will include six home games at the Richmond Coliseum. Additional home dates include May 16, June 6, and June 20. The 2015 season marks the Raiders' sixth professional indoor football campaign in the Richmond Coliseum, and fourth as a charter member of the Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL). The Raiders have the PIFL's best home record dating back to 2012, and have the most first team All-PIFL players and Players of the Week in the league. James Fuller returns as head coach of the Raiders and the team is actively recruiting for the 2015 roster, re- signing veterans while targeting new talent. Season and group event tickets are on sale now at richmondraidersprofootball.com or by calling 804-780-0430. Individual game tickets will go on sale at a later date. The PIFL's membership for the 2015 season stands at eight teams. The Erie (PA) Explosion joins the league for 2015 adding to the footprint in Pennsylvania, where the Lehigh Valley SteelHawks and Harrisburg Stampede will be natural rivals. All eight teams will compete throughout the season with no head-to-head matchups occurring more than twice, and the top four teams at the end of the season will qualify for the playoffs. The top two teams will earn home field advantage for the first round the weekend of June 28. The semifinal winners will play for the PIFL Championship at the home of the team with the best regular season record the weekend of July 5. Following the early three game homestand, the Raiders face three straight road games including a date at defending champion Nashville Venom, a return trip to Alabama, and their first meeting as PIFL members with Erie. The Raiders will return home May 16 to face the Harrisburg Stampede, then travel to Pennsylvania twice in three weeks for the lone 2015 matchup with the Lehigh Valley SteelHawks May 29 and the rematch with Harrisburg June 13. In between, they will host the Venom June 6, then conclude the regular season at home against Erie June 20. "We're looking forward to getting training camp started in late February, which will be at the brand new Sports Reality performance training center in Hanover," said Raiders' Business General Manager Tim Hurley, "then getting back on the field for our early season home games in front of our great fans." The Raiders will look to get the season off to a good start before the longest road trip in franchise history. "It will certainly be challenging playing on the road at the two most recent league champions and we know from experience how tough Erie is, especially on their home turf," Hurley continued. "But we think our coaching staff is putting together a great roster with experienced veterans and promising rookies, and they'll be up for any challenge they face in 2015." Each home game will again feature a theme with contests, fun exhibits, giveaways, prizes, the unparalleled Lady Raiders dance team and other great entertainment throughout the night. "The spacing and timing of our home games will give everyone a chance to experience a Raiders game, and hopefully more than one," Hurley said. "With the on- and off-field entertainment, pre-game activities, and the postgame autograph session on the field, each game is an affordable, memorable experience for the whole family." 2015 season ticket packages start at just $35 and come with valuable coupons and gifts. More information and a link to order tickets can be found on the Raiders' website, www.RichmondRaidersProFootball.com, or by calling the Raiders' ticket hotline at 804-780- 0430.
