Southern Maryland Blue Crabs News Release
WALDORF, MD- The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs announced today their 2015 season schedule. The schedule once again features a 140 game slate, and 70 home games at Regency Furniture Stadium, the Charles County home of the Blue Crabs in Waldorf.
The Blue Crabs will kick off their 2015 campaign in a seven-game homestand versus the Somerset Patriots and Long Island Ducks on Friday, April 24th concluding on Thursday, April 30th.
Saturday, July 4th is sure to be one of the highlights of the summer, when the Blue Crabs host an Independence Day game. The game will come in the middle off a three-game series against the Sugar Land Skeeters. Of the Blue Crabs 70 home games, 32 will fall on either Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, making it most convenient for families to continue to build their fond memories at the ballpark. Thirty-two weekend dates also means plenty of spectacular post-game fireworks shows will be planned.
"We didn't think that the schedule could get any better than the 2014 season schedule, but this schedule proves us wrong," said Blue Crabs General Manager Patrick Day. "To open the season on a Friday is huge! The schedule is loaded with big weekend matchups, week-day games, and a good amount of holiday dates," said Day.
The home schedule features seven games in April, 14 games in May, 11 games in June, 14 games in July, 18 in August, and 6 in September. The final home game will be played on Sunday, September 13th against the York Revolution.
"Our fans are the ones that have made Regency Furniture Stadium the premier destination for affordable family fun, and the 2015 schedule gives them many opportunities to enjoy just that," said Blue Crabs Assistant General Manager of Marketing & Special Events Courtney Knichel. "There is nothing better than a baseball game on the 4th of July, and I'm so glad that we will get the chance to celebrate in style again in the 2015 season," Knichel continued.
The Blue Crabs have scheduled three week-day games during the 8th Anniversary Season. May 6th & 13th will feature the 7th Annual Baseball in Education Days at the ballpark with a slated 10:35am start time, and Wednesday, July 29th will feature an 11:05am start time with Camp and Recreation Day as the featured promotion.
A complete promotional schedule for the 8th Anniversary season will be released at a later date. 2015 season tickets and ticket plans are on sale now.
