Last Weekend

Friday Oct.10, IceMen (3) at Fort Wayne (7)

The IceMen started strong with a goal from Andre Bouvet-Morrissette off of a nice feed from Kale Kerbashian. After Fort Wayne answered, Mike Henderson lit the lamp to give the IceMen a 2-1 lead after one. The Komets rallied to take a 3-2 lead. On a power play, Nathan Moon bounced the puck off a Komet defender and into the back of the net to tie it at three. Fort Wayne rattled off four unanswered goals to take game one of the series. Peter Sakaris finished with two assists on the night for the IceMen.

Saturday, Oct.11: IceMen (3) at Fort Wayne (2)

For the second night in a row, Evansville scored first. Kevin Harvey forced a turnover. Jakub Culek picked up the loose puck and blasted it into the back of the net to give the IceMen a 1-0 in the first period. Cal Heeter kept the Komets off the scoreboard until the third period, when they scored two goals in the first two minutes of the frame.

Late in the third, Kale Kerbashian scored on a slap shot to tie it at two and force overtime. Neither team scored in the extra period, so they settled it in a shootout. Brandon Wong and Nathan Moon both beat Pat Nagle in the shootout, while Heeter shut the door on the Komets to secure the win for the IceMen

Sunday, Oct. 12: IceMen (0) at Indianapolis (3)

Indianapolis scored twice in the opening period as Garrett Klotz and Klarc Wilson both put in rebounds. After a scoreless second, the Fuel got another goal from Rhett Bly to push their lead to 3-0. The IceMen took 30 shots, but could not beat the duo of Sean Bonar and Cody Reichard as they were shutout.
