Stingrays Weekly: Stingrays Open 2014-15 Season Friday in Florida After Perfect Preseason

The Week That Was...

The South Carolina Stingrays battled the Gwinnett Gladiators and Greenville Road Warriors in preseason action this week earning a 2-0-0-0 week and preseason record.

The Stingrays and Gladiators collided Friday night at The Cooler in Alpharetta, Georgia with the visiting teaming picking up a 2-1 victory. The Gladiators broke open the scoring in the third period, but forward Jack Downing tied the contest on the power play and forward Cody Sylvester buried the game-winning marker with 32.7 seconds remaining. Goaltender Adam Morrison stood tall making 13 saves on 13 shots before sharing the net midway through the second period.

On Saturday, the Stingrays hosted the Road Warriors at the Carolina Ice Palace in North Charleston and did not disappoint a full crowd, grabbing a 4-3 victory. Forwards Branden Gracel and Lucas Van Natter each scored two goals and forward Patrick Gaul added two assists in the preseason finale. Neminder David LeNeveu earned the victory stopping 18 of 21 Road Warriors chances.
