Medicine Hat, AB- The Victoria Royals surrendered five special team goals in an 8-2 defeat to the Medicine Hat Tigers on Saturday night, with Tommy Vannelli scoring the game winner.

The Royals trailed 4-2 going into the third period before the Tigers tallied four goals in the final frame. Austin Carroll (6g-4a in seven games) and Jack Walker (2g-4a in his past four games) had the markers for Victoria.

Goaltender Coleman Vollrath stopped 31 shots he faced for the Royals. Tigers' netminder Marek Langhamer made 20 saves on 22 shots for the victory.

Victoria went 0/70.0% on the man advantage while Medicine Hat went 4/1136.4%.

The Royals continue their season long six game road trip, with a contest against the Red Deer Rebels on Tuesday, October 14th. Victoria then heads to Edmonton to take on the defending Mastercard Memorial Cup Champion Oil Kings on Wednesday, October 15th. Puck drop for both games are scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST).

Victoria will then return home for a pair of games vs. the Vancouver Giants on Friday October 24th and Saturday October 25th. Friday's contest marks the unveiling of the Royals third jersey, while Saturday's game is the annual Pink in the Rink Night at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.
