Calgary, AB - The Victoria Royals edged the Calgary Hitmen 3-2 Friday at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Chase Lang opened the scoring with a pair of first-period markers for Calgary. Following a scoreless second period, the visiting Royals responded with goals from Logan Fisher, Tyler Soy and Calgary Flames prospect Austin Carroll.
Calgary native Coleman Vollrath picked up the win with a 27-save performance, while Mack Shields made 19 stops for the Hitmen.
Calgary, now 3-3-0-1 on the season, next sees action on Sunday, Oct. 12, when the Brandon Wheat Kings (5-0-1-0) visit the Scotiabank Saddledome (4:00 p.m., Sportsnet 960 The FAN, WHL LIVE).
