SALT LAKE CITY (October 10, 2014) - The Salt Lake Bees and Smith's Ballpark have been nominated for a MiLBY for the best photo in Minor League Baseball in 2014. The photo was taken by Bees photographer Brent Asay and depicts a packed crowd at Smith's Ballpark on watching the Bees play during a sunset. It is one of 10 snapshots nominated for best photo.
Fans can log onto www.MiLB.com to vote for the MiLBY winner in the 13 different categories until Oct. 23. The MiLBYs are a yearly award given to the best players, plays, promotions and more across Minor League Baseball.
In addition to being nominated for best photo, former Salt Lake relief pitcher Cam Bedrosian is up for the MiLBY as top relief pitcher and breakout prospect. Bedrosian, 23, pitched at three different levels of the Angels minor league system during the 2014 season and made his Major League debut with the Angels on June 3. Bedrosian made 43 appearances in the Minor Leagues this year, saving 18 games while striking out 82 batters in 45 innings. As a Bee Bedrosian was 1-1 in eight games with a 7.71 ERA and earned two saves.
