Walleye Add to and Subtract from Roster

Toledo, OH - Forwards Tyler Barnes, Marek Tvrdon (TA-ver-den), Kyle Bonis (BOW-niss), defenseman Scott Czarnowczan (ZAR-now-zan) and goaltender Jared Coreau (CORE-oh) have been assigned to Toledo from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL.

Walleye signed forwards Anthony Luciani, Justin Mercier, defensemen Tyler Elbrecht, Kevin Clare, Joe Houk have all joined Toledo from the Grand Rapids camp. Walleye Defenseman Joel Chouinard has joined the Walleye from the Hamilton Bulldogs camp.

Toledo has also released six players listed below from its training camp roster. The current roster stands at 25 players and is attached.

Both Tvrdon and Coreau played with Toledo last season with Marek scoring nine goals with four assists in 22 contests. Coreau posted a record of 1-12-6, a 4.03 goals against average and .879 save percentage in a Walleye uniform.

Barnes appeared 33 games last year with the University of Wisconsin with 27 points (13G, 14A). Bonis was in the ECHL for 65 games a season ago with Florida, scoring 25 goals with 20 assists. Czarnowczan is a native of Macomb, MI and played for the Ferris State Bulldogs last year with 25 points (6G, 19A) in 41 games.

The players released were forwards Mac McDonnell and Gehrett Stargis along with defensemen Brad Denney, Andreas Backman and Mitch Stretch. Goaltender Justin Sand was also released. Stretch, Denney, Stargis, McDonnell and Sand were all members of the 2014 Toledo Free-Agent Camp.
