Orlando City SC News Release

ORLANDO - October 8, 2014 - In conjunction with the Orlando City Foundation (OCF), The Ruckus - a recognized Orlando City SC supporter group - presented a $4,200 check to the New Image Youth Center (NIYC) on Monday.

The NIYC was the victim of a recent theft, losing up to $6,000 of student equipment. The donation from The Ruckus will aid in the organization's recovery.

"When The Ruckus learned about the robbery at the New Image Youth Center, we knew we had to do something to help out," said Ruckus member Jeanna Malines. "We have worked alongside the Orlando City Foundation on several outreach projects over the years, but this one really hit home. The Ruckus will strive to continue to support our community with the same amount of energy and passion that we bring to each game day."

The contribution from some of City's most passionate fans continues the Club's efforts to support the local community. The Ruckus began their campaign to raise funds for the NIYC by setting a goal of $2,500. After surpassing that mark in less than a week, The Ruckus were able to nearly double their original target.

"I was delighted that our supporters took this opportunity to show their support for New Image," said Orlando City Director of Community Relations Kay Rawlins. "We have been working closely with them over the past two years and were so sorry to hear about the robbery. It was great to see the look on the kids' faces when they saw the check ."
