Four 2014 Chihuahuas Named Padres Organizational All-Stars

Minor League Baseball announced its 2014 San Diego Padres Organizational All-Stars and four El Paso Chihuahuas were included:

OF Yeison Asencio: The 24-year-old joined the Chihuahuas in mid-August from Double-A San Antonio and hit well for the remainder of the Triple-A season. Asencio batted .333 with five home runs and 15 RBIs in just 21 games with El Paso. The Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native was hitless in only three of those 21 games.

1B/C Cody Decker: The 27-year-old led the Padres organization with 27 home runs. His 79 RBIs were ten more than any other Chihuahuas player. The Santa Monica, California native also led the team in games, appearing in 134 of El Paso's 144 contests.

LHP Jason Lane: The 37-year-old started more games (24) than any other Chihuahuas pitcher, including the first game in Southwest University Park history on April 28th. The Santa Rosa, California native went 9-9 with a 4.51 ERA and also helped El Paso offensively, hitting .362 with three home runs and 12 RBIs in 69 at-bats.

OF Rymer Liriano: The 23-year-old played for three different clubs in 2014. Liriano was promoted to El Paso from Double-A San Antonio in late July and made his Major League debut with San Diego after just 16 games in Triple-A. The Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native hit .452 with 11 doubles and 13 RBIs in his stint with the Chihuahuas.
