 Washington Wild Things

Host Families Needed

October 7, 2014 - Frontier League (FL)
Washington Wild Things News Release

The Washington Wild Things are looking for host families for the 2015 season. Host families invite a member(s) into their home for the duration of the season (May-September). Because minor league baseball players are paid on a seasonal basis, host families are needed to help reduce the players' financial burden of pursuing their dreams of playing professional baseball.

Why Become a Host Family?

To ensure a good experience for both host families and players, the Wild Things organization takes extra care in matching players with prospective hosts. Some of the considerations include:  Most host families will host one player. However, host families with the ability to host two players are needed. Host families must be willing to commit to the entire season. Although, we do need host families for spring training (approx. 2 weeks) if you wish to give it a try.  Host families should be aware that players will be away on road trips for half of the summer and that they will leave in the early afternoon and return after night games during homestands.  Host families witness the day-to-day trials and tribulations of a minor league ballplayer. Host families will be a big part of their success in Washington and in their career as baseball players. The players form connections to their families that last a lifetime!  Host families receive tickets for the entire year, along with other benefits including an end-of-the-season host family picnic prior to a Wild Things game! www.facebook.com/washingtonwildthings @washwildthings www.washingtonwildthings.com.
