October 6, 2014 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release

DUBUQUE, IA- Only two weeks in the United States Hockey League's regular season, players from the league's three Eastern Iowa teams are making their mark. The USHL announced its weekly award winners today, and each player honored comes from a club who plays in the Prairie Farms Cowbell Cup rivalry series. Among those honored was Fighting Saints forward Brett Boeing, who was named the CCM Forward of the Week after scoring four goals in just two games this past weekend. Boeing joins Aaron Thow of Cedar Rapids, the CCM Defenseman of the Week, and Hayden Lavigne of Waterloo, the Reebok Goalie of the Week, as those honored.

Boeing, a native of Barrington, Illinois, struck for a goal in Dubuque's 4-1 loss at Prairie Farms Cowbell Cup rival Waterloo on Friday. He followed up his performance by helping the Fighting Saints to their first victory of the season on Saturday, notching a hat trick in a 7-1 victory over the Omaha Lancers. Boeing scored a goal in each period, posting his first USHL multi-goal game and his first USHL hat trick. His performance earned him the Truck Country 1st Star of the Game Saturday evening.

Boeing is in his second year with the Fighting Saints. The forward had 10 goals last season, and currently leads the USHL with four goals on the year. He is committed to play college hockey at Michigan Tech.

Boeing and the Fighting Saints are back in action on Saturday, visiting Sioux City at 7:05 p.m. That game can be heard on Dubuque's Super Hits 106.1 FM. The club returns home for a pair of games against the Youngstown Phantoms on October 17-18. Tickets are available to all home games by calling 563.583.6880 or online at the all-new DubuqueFightingSaints.com.
