HOUSTON (Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014) - The Houston Dynamo face the New York Red Bulls at 5 p.m. CT tonight in a crucial Eastern Conference encounter at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J.

Tonight's game will be broadcast live on the NBC Sports Network. The game can be heard on audio stream at www.HoustonDynamo.com and 850 AM (Spanish).

The Dynamo (10-13-6; 36 points) are in eighth place in the Eastern Conference, five points behind New York for fifth place and the final playoff spot. Houston captured a 2-0 home win over the Chicago Fire on Sunday behind goals from Omar Cummings and Boniek Garcia.

The Red Bulls (10-9-11; 41 points) are in fifth place in the East following a 4-0 road defeat to the LA Galaxy. New York is two points behind Columbus and one point ahead of Toronto FC.

Tonight is the third game between Houston and New York this season. The Red Bulls secured a 4-0 home win on April 23 before the clubs played to a 2-2 draw on July 4 in Houston.

New York features striker Bradley Wright-Phillips, who leads MLS with 24 goals this season, three shy of the MLS single-season record. The attack includes Thierry Henry, France's all-time leading scorer, who has nine goals and 13 assists this season. The Red Bulls also feature Australia international Tim Cahill, who scored two goals at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and was named to the MLS Best XI list last season.

Following tonight's game, the Dynamo will visit Toronto FC (40 points) on Wednesday at BMO Field for another critical Eastern Conference matchup. The Dynamo return to BBVA Compass Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 12 to host D.C. United on Breast Cancer Awareness Night, presented by Houston Methodist.
