Dynamo midfielders Boniek García, Luis Garrido to join Honduras national team for upcoming games aga

HOUSTON (Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014) - Houston Dynamo midfielders Boniek García and Luis Garrido will join the Honduras national team next week for its upcoming friendly matches against Mexico and the United States.

García, 30, appeared in three games (two starts) at the 2014 World Cup and has 95 career appearances for Honduras. The Tegucigalpa native has 12 goals and 14 assists in 74 career appearances with the Dynamo, including playoffs.

Garrido, 23, also started two games for Honduras at the 2014 World Cup. The Juticalpa native has 22 caps for Honduras, including 11 starts in qualifying matches for the 2014 World Cup. Garrido joined the Dynamo on loan from C.D. Olimpia on July 25 and the defensive midfielder has started all nine games since his debut on Aug. 3, helping the Dynamo to a 5-2-2 record since his arrival.

Honduras will play Mexico on Friday, Oct. 10 at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City before meeting the United States on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at FAU Stadium in Boca Raton, Florida.

The Dynamo carry a five-game unbeaten streak into Saturday's road game against the New York Red Bulls. Houston will return to BBVA Compass Stadium to D.C. United on Sunday, Oct. 12. Tickets are available at www.HoustonDynamo.com or by calling 713-276-GOAL.
