Stingrays Add Lucas Van Natter, Louis Belisle and Matt Ridley to 2014-15 Roster

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 22 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry, have agreed to terms with forwards Lucas Van Natter, Louis Belisle and defenseman Matt Ridley, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced today.
"These guys can work hard," mentioned Assistant Coach Ryan Warsofsky. "They can make a big impact for our team. We are excited they are coming to camp."
Van Natter, 25, begins his professional career after skating four seasons at Manhattanville College totaling 90 points (41 goals, 49 assists) in 104 career games. Last season, the Fort Erie, Ontario, native led the team in points (32) and goals (15) and served as team captain.
Also starting his professional career, Belisle, 23, attended Middleury College for four seasons adding 73 points (42 goals, 31 assists) in 100 games. In 2013-14, the L'Anciene-Lorette, Quebec, product led the team in goals (19) and finished second in points (25). Like Van Natter, Belisle served as the team captain his senior season.
Ridley, 24, joins the Stingrays after skating in 42 games with the Fayetteville FireAntz of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) last season earning 16 points (six goals, 10 assists). The Kelowna, British Columbia, native also appeared in three ECHL contests with the Gwinnet Gladiators and Orlando Solar Bears. Moving into his fourth professional campaign, Ridley has 121 career games played in the SPHL with Fayetteville and the Mississippi Surge totaling 15 goals and 31 assists for 46 points. His father, Mike, skated a 12-year career in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the New York Rangers and Washington Capitals scoring 292 goals and 466 assists for 758 points in 866 games.
The Stingrays celebrate Opening Night on Saturday, October 25 at 7:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum!
