Grizzlies Sign T.J. Syner

West Valley City, Utah - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach/General Manager Tim Branham announced today that the team has signed forward T.J. Syner for the 2014-2015 season.
Syner has split the last two seasons between the ECHL's Reading Royals and the AHL's Hershey Bears where he won a Kelly Cup with Branham in 2013. He totaled 28 goals and 35 assists for 63 points in 72 games with Reading and had three goals and five assists for eight points in 48 games with the Bears.
Syner joins his cousin Barry Almeida on this year's Grizzlies team.
"TJ is a very dynamic player," said Branham. "His speed and skill allow him to put pressure on the opposition. Our fans will enjoy watching him play."
The Springfield, Massachusetts native played four years of college at University of Massachusetts-Amhurst where he was a member of the Hockey-East All Academic team. During his senior season, he totaled 13 goals and 24 assists for 37 points in 36 games. He had 37 goals and 60 assists for 97 points in 135 games in college.
The Grizzlies open the 2014-2015 regular season at Maverik Center against the Idaho Steelheads on Friday, October 17 at 7 p.m.
