Otters' Dylan Strome Named Pioneer OHL Player of the Week

Toronto, ON - The Ontario Hockey League today announced that 2015 NHL Draft prospect Dylan Strome of the Erie Otters is the Pioneer OHL Player of the Week for the first week of the 2014-15 OHL regular season ending September 28.
Strome led the league with 10 points in three games scoring once with nine assists and a plus-minus rating of plus-6 helping the Otters to three straight road wins to open the new campaign. Strome recorded a career-high four points on the league's opening night in Saginaw Wednesday earning first star honours with a goal and three assists as part of a 7-1 win over the Spirit. On Friday night in Windsor, Strome chipped in three assists and was named third star of a 5-2 win over the Spitfires. He added three more helpers on Saturday night in Plymouth including one on Darren Raddysh's game-winner to help lift the Otters to a 5-4 overtime victory over the Whalers to sweep their West Division road trip.
Strome, a 17-year-old from Mississauga, ON, is playing in his second OHL season with the Otters. Chosen second overall in the 2013 OHL Priority Selection, Strome scored 10 goals with 29 assists for 39 points in 60 games last season as a rookie. He was recently identified as one of six 'A' level OHL 'Players to Watch' by NHL Central Scouting as a projected first round candidate for the 2015 NHL Draft.
Also considered for the award this week was fellow Otter and 2015 NHL Draft prospect Connor McDavid with eight points in three games including three goals and five assists, while Joseph Blandisi of the Barrie Colts scored four goals and one assist for five points in two games. In goal, Charlie Graham of the Belleville Bulls posted a 2-0-0-0 record including a shutout victory with a goals-against-average of 0.50 and save percentage of .984.
