Skeeters Rally and Advance to Championship Series

(York, P.A., September 28, 2014) - The Sugar Land Skeeters came back from a three-run deficit to beat the York Revolution 5-3 on Sunday afternoon and advance to the Atlantic League Championship Series for the first time in franchise history. The Skeeters will take on the Lancaster Barnstormers for the title in the best-of-five series beginning with home games on September 30th and October 1st.

David Pauley took the mound for Sugar Land and pitched 7.0 innings. The righty allowed three runs and collected three strikeouts before earning the win.

Down by three, Travis Denker hit a solo home run in the top of the second to put the Skeeters on the board.

Michael Rockett singled to center field to start off the top of the fifth. Dominic Ramos followed with another hit to center field and made it to second while Rockett advanced to third on an error by York's Tim Battle. Adam Godwin singled to left field and Rockett tacked on a run for the Skeeters. Ryan Langerhans stepped up to bat and hit a triple to right field, scoring Ramos and Godwin and putting Sugar Land in the lead. Langerhans then scored the final run of the game on a wild pitch by Alain Quijano

Andrew Johnston relieved Pauley in the eighth and pitched a scoreless inning. Roy Corocoran collected the save for the second game in a row after tossing the ninth and keeping the Revolution at just three runs.

The Skeeters head home to take on the Lancaster Barnstormers in the first game of the Championship Series at 7:05 p.m. CT. at Constellation Field on September 30th.
