Seattle Sounders FC News Release

FRISCO, TEXAS- Lamar Neagle scored his seventh goal of the season as Seattle Sounders FC (17-9-3, 54 points) fell to FC Dallas (14-10-6, 48 points), 3-1, Wednesday evening at Toyota Stadium. Seattle remains tied with LA Galaxy atop Supporters' Shield standings as they concluded the season series with Dallas.

FC Dallas began the scoring in the 8th minute with the first of two goals by David Texeira. Andres Escobar received a throw-in in the box and hit the ball over Seattle's backline. Texeira spun off a defender and struck a one-touch finish to the far right post.

Seattle equalized the game at 1-1 in the 58th minute. One minute after coming in off the bench, Neagle passed to Dempsey at the top of the box. Dempsey drew in the defense and dropped a back-heel pass to Neagle, who blasted a long-range shot into the top right corner of the net. Neagle's 21 points (seven goals, seven assists) this season are a new career-high.

In the 78th minute, Texeira completed his brace and gave Dallas a 2-1 lead. Escobar dribbled down the right side of the pitch, cut back in the box, and sent a low cross to Texeira, who netted a left-foot sliding attempt.

FC Dallas added an insurance tally in the 88th minute. Michel's corner kick found Blas Perez for a diving header that Stefan Frei got hands on, but couldn't gain possession of before it crossed the line.

Sounders FC returns home to play in its fifth match in 16 days on Saturday, September 27 against Chivas USA. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m. on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field.
