Axemen Sign Two More
September 24, 2014 - Indoor Football League (IFL) - Minnesota Axemen News Release
Bemidji, MN - The Bemidji Axemen look to improve their high-flying offense with the signings of wide receiver Darnell Williams and running back Brandon Anderson.
Williams spent two season at Louisiana College where he notched 3,720 all-purpose yards and 28 touchdowns on his way to two straight All-Conference selections. Most recently he played for the New Orleans VooDoo of the AFL.
"We believe we have got a great signing in Darnell," head coach Dixie Wooten stated. "He should really help our offense succeed."
Anderson, a Fort Valley State alum, provides depth to the Axemen at running back and brings a spark as a return man. As a senior at Fort Valley State, Anderson averaged nearly 30 yards per return.
"We know we have a hard worker with Brandon," Wooten reflected. "We are excited to have him."
Both players were signed with the Axemen last season. Williams signed early in the year and was placed on an exempt list while Anderson appeared in one game for the Axemen before being placed on Injured Reserve due to injury.
The Bemidji Axemen kick off their season in February of 2015 on Palace Casino Field at the Sanford Center. Season tickets are now on sale starting as low as $56 each and can be purchased online through www.bemidjiaxemen.com. For more information, please contact the Axemen offices as (218)444-8216.
