KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Kansas City T-Bones announced they have acquired left-handed pitcher Josh Tols from Trinidad of the Pecos League in exchange for future considerations.

Tols is a 5-foot-7 and 175-pound rookie from Adelaide, South Australia. This past season with Trinidad, Tols was 5-0 with 61 strikeouts and 25 walks, and a 3.28 ERA in 12 games (nine starts). Before pitching for Trinidad, Tols pitched two seasons at Rockhurst University. During his senior campaign of 2014, Tols was 4-7 with a 2.68 ERA, including eight complete games in 10 starts and two shutouts. He struck out a Great Lakes Valley Conference-best 71 batters. In Tols' seven losses, Rockhurst's offense scored a total of 10 runs.

"Tols is a rookie who'll be trying to make the squad during spring training," said manager John Massarelli.

Tols, who will turn 25 on Oct. 6, is the second player Kansas City acquired from the Trinidad club this offseason, joining infielder Blake May, whom the T-Bones received in a similar trade on Sept. 16.
