Inland Empire 66ers News Release

San Bernardino, CA - The Inland Empire 66ers and San Manuel Stadium are excited to be the home for a charity softball double-header on Saturday, October 4th that will feature the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team (WWAST) hosted by the Western University of Health and Sciences Physical Therapy Department.

The event will showcase the WWAST team playing against two separate teams from Pomona's Western University. The first contest will begin at 4:00 PM as the Wounded Warriors club will take on a team comprised of WesternU alumni, event donors and first responders. The nightcap of the twin-bill will pit the WWAST against a team of physical therapy students currently attending WesternU.

The team is comprised of veterans and active-duty servicemen who have served our country in the global war on terrorism in Iraq and in Afghanistan. They now travel the country playing able-bodied teams in competitive, celebrity and exhibition softball games, bringing their special brand of softball, courage and inspiration.
