The Wheat Kings took the lead in the second when Taylor Green found the back of the net. Jared McAmmond got the Pats even in the third with a shorthanded goal, but Tyler Coulter had the answer to regain the lead. Braylon Shmyr scored and empty netter for the 4-2 Wheat Kings win on Opening Night.
