Toledo Walleye News Release

Toledo, OH - Forward Anthony Luciani (lew-chi-ah-nee) has agreed to terms with the Toledo Walleye for the 2014-15 season.

Luciani split his 2013-14 season between Cincinnati of the ECHL and San Antonio in the AHL. With the Cyclones, the native of Maple, Ontario collected a point per game with a career best 53 points (25G, 28A) in 50 contests and was a plus 11. He led Cincinnati in goals and points last season. Since turning professional in 2011, Luciani has picked up 118 points (55G, 63A) and 128 penalty minutes in 133 ECHL contests; all with the Cyclones.

"Anthony fits into what we are trying to do here in Toledo," said Head Coach Derek Lalonde. "He plays fast, hard and with passion. I know he has been hard to play against over the last couple of years and we are happy to have him on our side now."

In the 2011-12 season, Luciani appeared in 54 games for Cincinnati with 49 points (26G, 23) and finished third in scoring on the team. The 24-year-old has also skated in 19 career AHL contests (5G, 2A) with San Antonio and Rochester.

Before joining the pro ranks, Luciani skated three full seasons in the OHL with the Erie Otters. In 181 games at the OHL level, the 5'8", 203 pound forward posted 160 points (73G, 87A) and 181 penalty minutes. With the Otters in 2009-10, Luciani scored 38 goals with 30 assists in 68 contests. He set a career best with 49 assists in the 2010-11 season.
