After months of anticipation, the Generals hit home ice at the General Motors Centre for the home opener of the 2014-15 season, taking on the Sudbury Wolves. If the excitement of opening night isn't enough to get you to this game, how does the name John Tavares sound? JT will be in the building to have his jersey retired at the home opener and this is sure to be a memorable night that you don't want to miss.

Have you ever seen over 5000 teddy bears thrown onto a hockey rink? If you haven't, you need to be at this game. If you have, you understand why this is one of the best games of the season. After the first goal is scored by the Generals, fans get on their feet and throw teddy bears onto the ice. All teddy bears are donated to local charities, just in time for Christmas. If you're looking for a feel good game, make sure to buy tickets for Nov. 28.

Jakob Chychrun, the first overall pick of the 2014 OHL Priority Selection will be in the building on Friday, Oct. 17 as the Sting make the trek from Sarnia to Oshawa. Chychrun, a defender, put up 16 goals and 27 assists for 43 points in 29 games during his 2013-14 season with the Toronto Jr. Canadian Minor Midget AAA. He has been noted as a "franchise level defender, one who has the ability to impact the game in all three zones." See how Chychrun fares against the Gens in this game on Friday, Oct. 17.

Sunday, Feb. 8 is the first and only time that the Gens will take on the Guelph Storm on home ice during the regular season. Guelph really did take the OHL by storm in the 2013-14 season, winning the J. Ross Robertson Cup and moving forward to take on the Edmonton Oil Kings in the Memorial Cup final. Although the Oil Kings were victorious, the Storm are coming off of a great season and this is guaranteed to be an exciting game between two great teams.

2 words: Connor McDavid. The prodigal son will be in the GM Centre along with the rest of the Erie Otters for what is sure to be an action packed game. McDavid was drafted first overall in the 2013 OHL Priority Draft with exceptional status, and has been making his mark on the OHL ever since. Don't miss your chance to see this superstar while he is lighting up junior hockey.

The First Annual Pink in the Rink night is taking place Sunday, Oct. 26 in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Players will be sporting commemorative jerseys in honour of fans who have battled cancer and these jerseys will be auctioned off online following the game. This night will be a celebration of life, sure to bring a lot of emotion to rink.

If you're looking for a game full of intensity, be sure to purchase tickets for Sunday, Nov. 9. The Gens take on long-time rivals, the Peterborough Petes in a game that is sure to feature a lot of heavy hitting. The Petes finished their 2013-14 season at sixth place in the Eastern Conference which means they are hungry for a great season. A lot of fans will make the trip from Peterborough for this game, make sure you're here to cheer loud for the Generals and show them where the best fans in the league reside - in the GM Centre.

Sunday, Oct. 30 marks the first game of the season in which the Barrie Colts will be in the GM Centre to take on the Generals. After a disappointing loss to the Colts back in the 2013 playoffs, the rivalry between these two teams has continued, providing high energy, fast paced games. The last time these two teams met, Barrie took the game 3-2. On Sunday, Oct. 30, watch the Gens as they hope to make a comeback against the Colts. Game time is at 2:05 p.m. so you'll have plenty of time to return home for the Grey Cup!

Pucks4Heart in support of the Heart&Stroke Foundation is taking place on Saturday, Feb. 21. If accurately throwing pucks from a far distance is your speciality, then this is the game for you. If not, this game is still a really special day at the GM Centre. You'll have the chance to purchase pucks to throw on the ice during intermission - pucks closes to certain spots on the ice will win fantastic prizes. All proceeds support the Heart&Stroke Foundation.

Is there any better way to start the New Year than with a Gens game? The answer is no. Dust off those dancing shoes from New Year's Eve and bring the whole family to watch the Gens take on the North Bay Battalion.
