Baillie, Yorke, Return to Rockets from Pro Camps

September 17, 2014 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Kelowna Rockets News Release

After Tyson Baillie went undrafted at this year's NHL Entry Draft, it didn't take long for the scrappy Kelowna Rockets forward to get an invite to an NHL camp.

And now after attending his first NHL training camp, with the San Jose Sharks, the first team to contact Baillie after the draft, the Fort Saskatchewan, AB native is even more motivated to improve his game.

Baillie was returned to Kelowna by the Sharks on Tuesday and rejoined his teammates to get set for the opening of the WHL regular season this weekend.

"It was a great experience," said Baillie of the Sharks' camp. "You quickly learn how quick the pace gets and how much stronger the players are at the next level. Overall I thought I did a good job and I'm looking forward to the start of the season."

Baillie, who doesn't turn 19 until November, rejoined his team with a few days of practice before the Rockets home opener on Saturday against Kamloops.

Defenceman Dalton Yorke was also returned to the Rockets by San Jose Tuesday after being invited to camp while goalie Jackson Whistle is back in Kelowna after attending the Young Stars in Penticton with Vancouver.

Still at pro camps are Madison Bowey (Washington), Rourke Chartier (San Jose), Justin Kirkland (Nashville), Mitch Wheaton (Detroit) and Tyrell Goulbourne (Philadelphia).

Tickets for the Rockets home opener Sept. 20 vs. Kamloops are available now through www.selectyourtickets.com.
