Spokane Reassigns Two Defensemen

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs announced today that 16-year-old defensemen Jeff Faith and Jake Toporowski have both been reassigned to their home clubs.

Faith, from Wilcox, Saskatchewan, was the Chiefs' 1st-Round (16th Overall) draft choice in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft. He appeared in three games during the recently concluded preseason schedule, recording 2 penalty minutes. He returns to the Notre Dame Hounds of the SMHL.

Toporowski, from Bettendorf, Iowa, was the Chiefs' 3rd-Round (60th Overall) selection in the same 2013 draft. He appeared in four games for the Chiefs during the preseason, tallying one assist. His reassignment destination has yet to be determined.

The roster move puts Spokane at 27 players, including 15 forwards, 9 defensemen and three goaltenders. The Chiefs open their season on the road on Saturday night, facing the rival Tri-City Americans in Kennewick.
