Battalion Trades Tessier for Pick

NORTH BAY, Ont. - The North Bay Battalion has traded defenceman Shawn Tessier to the Kingston Frontenacs for a ninth-round pick in the 2015 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection, it was announced Monday.
Tessier, an 18-year-old native of Toronto, played seven games with the Battalion last season without registering a point.
He played 45 games with the North Bay Trappers of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League in 2013-14, scoring two goals and earning 20 assists for 22 points. He had one goal and one assist for two points in four playoff games.
Tessier was a 12th-round pick in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection from the Markham Majors minor midgets.
The Battalion, which visits the Peterborough Petes at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday for the last of six preseason games, now has 24 players on the roster, comprising 14 forwards, eight defencemen and two goaltenders.
