Island Storm News Release

(Charlottetown, PE) The Island STORM added to their front line today with the signing of Shamus Ferguson, a 6'10" center from Toronto, Ontario.

Ferguson played his high school basketball at Francis Libermann Catholic High School in Toronto before moving on to Arkansas Pine Bluff University and finishing his university career with the Ottawa Gee Gees of the OUA Conference."‹

The past two seasons Ferguson has been a member of the Mississauga Power of the NBL Canada. He started 24 of 78 games over two seasons, last season shooting over 63% from the floor. His best game came on January 19th, 2014 against the Halifax Rainmen when he scored 10 points on 80% shooting from the floor while grabbing 6 rebounds to go along with 3 blocks.

"Shamus is a great pick up for us," says STORM Head Coach Joe Salerno. "He has been a solid contributor coming off the bench for the Power the last two seasons and I believe he still has a lot of untapped potential. He is extremely athletic and is a very good shot blocker. Shamus is the type guy who could be the defensive player of the year in this league. I just think he needs the right opportunity and he's a great addition to our camp."
