Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Waterloo, Iowa-The Waterloo Black Hawks are inviting the Cedar Valley's fastest dachshunds to race at the Party Town Wiener Dog Drag Strip during the 4th annual Dachshund Derby on Friday, October 10th when Waterloo hosts the Fargo Force at 7:05 p.m.
The yearly attraction is presented by Paw Prints Pet Salon in Hudson and NutriSource Pet Foods. The $10 entry fee for each fuzzy competitor will be contributed to the Cedar Bend Humane Society.
"Everyone can have fun anytime they come to Party Town, but this event is one of our fans' favorites, and we certainly agree," said Black Hawks Vice President of Business Operations Mike Falk. "Besides being a reason to smile, it benefits a great organization that helps homeless pets in the Cedar Valley."
The two-person human pit crew for each participating hound can order game tickets for $10 apiece. Dachshunds will be monitored by Black Hawks staff at a check-in/check-out area throughout the entire evening. A kennel should be brought from home for each racer.
Registrations are requested by Wednesday, October 8th. For more information, please call the Black Hawks at (319) 232-3444.
