FC Edmonton News Release

EDMONTON, AB (September 12, 2014) - FC Edmonton is proud to partner with Lafarge as the Adopt-A-School title partner in order to provide children with lasting memories through the fun and excitement of professional soccer. School children and their families will receive tickets to each home match in September, October and November as part of Lafarge's community involvement initiatives. Additional businesses may contribute to the program as ticket sponsors.

"FC Edmonton is delighted to again be working with Lafarge and the Adopt-a-School program at our remaining home games this season," said FC Edmonton general manager Rod Proudfoot. "Through the wonderful support of Lafarge, we will be able to host a wide range of students who have earned the right to qualify for these game tickets."

Tickets will be distributed to several deserving schools across the Capital Region. School principals will be provided with an overview of the Lafarge Adopt-A-School program as well as suggestions for ticket distribution such as positive reinforcement for good grades, model behaviour, leadership in the community and family achievements. Each family receiving tickets will be provided with a note describing why their son or daughter was chosen and contact information about the ticket sponsor for sending thank you notes.

Lafarge is committed to helping build better communities through initiatives supporting education. FC Edmonton provides an excellent avenue to enhance current Lafarge programs with local youth and schools. Overall, the Lafarge Adopt-A-School program will provide over 2,500 tickets for local children and their families to attend games together, many of whom may not otherwise have had an opportunity to share in an experience such as this.
