MORRISTOWN, N.J. (September 10, 2014) - Sky Blue FC defender Caitlin Foord has signed with Australian club Perth Glory Women, which competes in the W-League.
"I'm super excited to start my season in Perth," Foord said. "I feel like a change is always healthy, and I love meeting new people and making new friends. Perth is an amazing city and I love it."
Foord, who was signed by Sky Blue FC on March 6, 2013, competed with the team for two seasons. During her time with the New Jersey squad, she made 36 appearances and played 3,116 minutes. In 2013, Foord was named to the NWSL Second XI, as voted for by the media, club officials and players. This past year, she tallied two assists and was a crucial part of SBFC's back line.
Sky Blue FC is currently in negotiations with Foord regarding a new contract for the 2015 NWSL season.
"We are in talks with Caitlin to bring her back for next season following her stint in Perth," Sky Blue FC technical director and head coach Jim Gabarra said. "We always knew that she would return to play in the Australian league during the NWSL offseason. It is important for her continued development as a professional and also for her participation with the Australian National Team."
Perth Glory starts its W-League season on Sunday, September 14 against the Brisbane Roar Women and will end the regular season in December, 2014.
