Harrisburg Heat News Release

HARRISBURG, Pa., Sept. 8 - The Harrisburg Heat have agreed to contract teams with former Cleveland Freeze forward Dean Miller for the 2014-15 season, the Major Arena Soccer League team announced today.

Terms of the deal were not released.

Miller is the third player to reach terms with the Heat, joining forwards Chris Hall and midfielder Tyler Witmer.

Miller, 25, played in 10 regular-season games last season for Cleveland, totaling nine points on six goals and three assists. Four of those goals and two of the assists came in four games against the Heat.

He also scored two goals in two playoff games for the Freeze.

The 6-foot, 176-pound Miller is a native of Johannesburg, South Africa, and played collegiately at Notre Dame College of Ohio, the same Division III power that produced high-scoring Heat forward Tom Mellor.

Miller was one of more than 40 players who attended this past weekend's open tryout camp at Sports City Harrisburg.

COMING ATTRACTIONS

OPENING NIGHT: The Heat will open the third season of their modern era on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Detroit before returning home on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the State Farm Show Complex's Large Arena, where the original Heat played from 1991-2003.

The Heat will play 10 regular-season home games at the 7,300-seat Large Arena after spending the last two seasons in the complex's Equine Arena.
