In the second period, the Wolves began taking penalties and handed the Soo a total of four power plays. The Wolves had one power play in the period. The Soo added two more goals as the Greyhounds doubled the Wolves 18-9 in shots.

The Wolves played another chippy period in the third and gave the Hounds four more power play chances. The Wolves had one power play in the third. The Hounds added two more goals.

Nathan Pancel had the only goal of the game for Sudbury in the third period. Newly acquired Brody Milne assisted on the play along with rookie forward Brady Pataki.

The Wolves got some bad news in the second frame when forward Nick Baptiste left the game with an upper body injury. Baptiste was playing in his first exhibition game and fell awkwardly into the boards. It is believed that Baptiste could be out of the Wolves' line-up for up to a month.

Shots on goal finished 51-33 in favour of the Hounds. The Hounds were 1 for 9 on the power play while the Wolves were 1 for 4 with the man advantage.

Troy Timpano went the distance for the Wolves in goal and despite allowing six goals, the 16-year-old made a number of key saves in particular on the nine power plays that the Hounds enjoyed. The Hounds scored three goals off of deflections while the Wolves missed on a number of glorious scoring opportunities.

The Wolves will be looking to regroup on Saturday night in the Soo as the Wolves will travel to the Lock City for a return engagement. Saturday's game will be the Wolves' fourth pre-season game in less than one week.

The Wolves return to the Sudbury Arena on Friday, September 12th when they host the Barrie Colts for the Wolves final home pre-season game. Tickets are now on sale at the Sudbury arena ticket office for only $12 for all ages.
