South Carolina Stingrays News Release

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 22 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry, have signed forward Andrew Rowe, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced today.

Rowe, 26, finished second in the ECHL in goals (31), 19 in assists (35), fifth with 66 points and a plus-minus rating of +28 in 64 games with the Greenville Road Warriors last season, earning an All-ECHL Second Team selection. Under contract with the American Hockey League's (AHL) Hartford Wolf Pack in 2013-14, the Muskegon, Michigan, native added three points (two goals, one assist) in seven AHL contests.

"Andrew is a huge piece to the puzzle," said Carbery. "He's a big addition to our organization and our team going into next year. He's a phenomenal talent at our level and has demonstrated that over the last few years. We have seen a lot of him and I really gained an appreciation for the game he plays, not only from a skill element, but from the way he worked. He worked extremely hard and you could tell he cared."

In 142 career ECHL games, all with Greenville and Elmira, the 6-foot-2, 180-pound forward amassed 65 goals and 80 assists for 145 points. At the AHL level, Rowe racked up 27 points (17 goals, 10 assists) in 101 games with the Adirondack Phantoms, Admirals and Wolf Pack.

"Every player is looking for great opportunity and coach Carbery's reputation precedes him," mentioned Rowe. "I'm excited to play under coach Carbery and the dual affiliation with the AHL and NHL makes it a great spot."
