South Carolina Stingrays News Release
North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 22 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry, joined Palmetto Brewing Company in Downtown Charleston to create 5 Hole Smoked Stout, the featured "843 Series" beer for the month of September. A portion of each pint sold at Palmetto Brewery benefits Pattison's Academy.
"Teaming up with Palmetto Brewing Company for our first-ever hockey-themed beer and raising funds for a special school that is close to our organization is a tremendous honor," said Stingrays President Rob Concannon. "When we first met with the brewery, we went over several popular hockey terms and five-hole stood out. We look forward to doing more fun and exciting promotions and events with Palmetto Brewing Company this season."
An American stout, 5 Hole Smoked Stout is brewed with smoked cherry malt, dark chocolate and smoked ghost peppers and is available only on tap in the Palmetto Brewing Company tasting room. The tasting room is open Tuesday-Saturday. Click here for hours and details.
Pattison's Academy serves children with severe and multiple disabilities and exposes them to community inclusive rehabilitative programs and therapies integrated with an educational environment. The Stingrays and Pattison's Academy have team up for multiple events throughout the year including the CARTA Bus Rodeo, school visits and ice skating sessions following Stingrays games at the North Charleston Coliseum.
The "843 Series" of beers are limited edition brews only available in the Palmetto Brewing Company tasting room and celebrate the company's 20 anniversary and recent expansion. Sales from each beer in the series will benefit local charities.
