Iowa Energy to Host Open Player Tryouts

Des Moines, Iowa - The Iowa Energy will hold their annual open player tryouts for the upcoming 2014-15 NBA Development League season in Memphis, Tennessee on October 11 and Des Moines, Iowa on October 18, the team announced today.

"Open tryouts have always been an incredible opportunity for players to showcase their abilities to our staff. The chance to play for the NBA D-League affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies is an opportunity that I'm confident will bring out high-level talent, and we are excited to begin the process of building the Iowa Energy roster for the upcoming season." said Memphis Grizzlies Director of Minor League Operations Chris Makris.

Players who participate will be observed and evaluated by members of the Memphis Grizzlies and Iowa Energy basketball operations staffs.

The Memphis tryout will take place on Saturday, October 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Hyde Gym on the Memphis University School campus (6191 Park Ave., Memphis, TN 38119). Doors will open for registration at 9 a.m.

The Des Moines tryout will take place on Saturday, October 18 from 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Johnson Wellness Center/Sisam Arena at Grand View University (1500 Morton Ave., Des Moines, IA 50316). Doors will open for registration at 9 a.m.

All applicants must be eligible to play in the NBA D-League and complete the required paperwork. For registrations completed ten days prior to their respective tryouts the fee is $150. The fee increases to $200 for registrations completed within ten days or at the door on-site for their respective tryouts.
