Eagles Host Harrisburg in Final USL PRO Regular Season Match

Charlotte NC - The Charlotte Eagles (9-14-4, 31 pts) play their final regular season game this Saturday, September 6th at 7 pm against the Harrisburg City Islanders (9-10-7, 34 pts). Charlotte currently sits three points behind the City Islanders, who occupy the 8th and final playoff spot. Making this match a must win for Charlotte to have any shot at the playoffs.
Harrisburg travels to Charleston to face the Battery on Friday, prior to their game against the Eagles on Saturday. Harrisburg can wrap up a playoff spot with a victory on either Friday or Saturday night. The City Islanders are led in scoring this season by Morgan Langley with six goals and six assists.
In the previous match between these two teams Charlotte took a second half lead thanks to a Fred Sekyere goal in the 57th minute. Harrisburg, however, equalized at the death as a Coady Andrews 90th minute header found the back of the net to equalize for the hosts. Charlotte rebounded well from the draw as they went on to beat Rochester Rhinos the next day at Sahlen's Stadium 1-0.
In the Eagles last game they traveled to Montreal to face the Montreal Impact Reserves and fought to a 1-1 draw. Jorge Herrera was the sole scorer for the Eagles with a goal coming in the 10 th minute of play just five minutes after Montreal opened up the scoring. Herrera continues to pace the Eagles in scoring with nine goals and three assists. Zak Boggs picked up the assist on Herrera's goal against the Impact Reserves.
Make sure to come out to cheer on your Eagles in their regular season finale this Saturday September 6 th at 7 pm at Queens Sports Complex. Tickets can be purchased at a discounted rate until the day of the game (at midnight) and can also be purchased at the box office.
