Sandy Eisenhart & Renee Blunt Named Gameday Employees of the Year

CHARLESTON, SC - One of the primary reasons the Charleston RiverDogs are successful as an organization is because of the approaches and positive attitude of the gameday staff.

Two of those workers - front gate attendee Sandy Eisenhart and concession stand worker Renee Blunt - were selected as Gameday Employees of the Year and were duly recognized on the field with plaques during the RiverDogs final home game of the season on August 28.

"We take great pride in our customer service, and both Sandy and Renee were the best of the best," said General Manager Dave Echols. "We had nine finalists for the honors, and any of them could have won, but it was clear that both Sandy and Renee were outstanding as they continually represented us with class and distinction."

In addition to Blunt, the finalists for Gameday Employee of the Year in the concessions category included Susan Anderson (portable stands), Iris Duke (commissary & picnics) and Nichol Barcel (wait staff).

While Eisenhart was tops from the non-concession area, the other finalists included Madison Port (parking), Allen Flaherty (press box, promotions, KidZone and merchandise), Mike Petrini (grounds crew) and Terrill Wilson (cleanup crew).

All of those were provided with plaques from Echols.

Two employees - seat server Rachel McCann and Wilson - were the lucky ones as they each took home $500 in a random drawing of all employees.

The $500 awards are the result of the culmination of the RiverDogs' Golden Pin season-long recognition as fans and guests at the park are given golden pins to present at their own discretion to RiverDogs staff members who provide exemplary customer service. Staff members who receive golden pins throughout the season were entered into a drawing to win $500 as a nod to their excellent work.
