September 2, 2014 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Wilmington Hammerheads FC News Release

Wilmington, NC - Wilmington Hammerheads FC is scheduled to host Orlando City Soccer Club for their final home match of the regular season on Wednesday, September 3 at 7:30 p.m. ET at Legion Stadium. Looking to clinch one of the final three playoff positions, the Hammerheads are currently even with the Harrisburg City Islanders for the seventh seed position with three games remaining.

Wilmington and Orlando will meet on the pitch of Legion Stadium for the second time in one week for a rematch following the Hammerheads' 3-1 victory over the Lions on Thursday. Corben Bone was quick to put Wilmington on the board with a goal in the 3rd minute of play. Austin da Luz equalized for Orlando leading into halftime after knocking the ball into the back net following a few failed attempts by the Hammerheads defense to clear the ball from the penalty area.

Mark-Anthony Kaye and Sammy Ochoa would eventually lift the Hammerheads with two goals in the second half to secure the victory over the current league-leaders. Thursday's win was the first victory for Wilmington in almost six weeks. Two days later, the Hammerheads hosted Sacramento Republic FC in a scoreless draw at Legion Stadium.

Orlando enters Wednesday's match following a 7-0 victory over the Dayton Dutch Lions on Sunday at ESPN Wide World of Sports. Kevin Molino tallied his second hat trick of the season, raising his 2014 goal count to 19 and proving that he will be one to watch on Wednesday.

Orlando has one match remaining during their regular season contest following Wednesday night's game. They will host the Richmond Kickers on Saturday, September 6 as they compete to hold the current first place ranking to claim the regular season title.

The Hammerheads are set to travel north for their final two matches of the regular season over the weekend versus Dayton on Friday, September 5 at 7:00 p.m. ET at DOC Stadium and the Rochester Rhinos on Sunday, September 7 at 4:05 p.m. ET at Sahlen's Stadium.

Fans in Wilmington are encouraged to join the Hammerheads organization and supporters for a live Watch Party on Friday and Sunday at Buffalo Wild Wings on Old Eastwood Road to cheer on the team as they play Dayton and Rochester for the final regular season matchups. Drink and food specials will be available.
