Tribe Walked from Record-Setting Season

Indianapolis Indians News Release

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Pinch hitter Robert Andino singled home both the tying and go-ahead runs in the top of the ninth on Monday afternoon, but the Louisville Bats (68-75) rallied behind an error, three walks and Jason Bourgeois' RBI single to win 4-3 and walk off the second consecutive season finale against the Indianapolis Indians (73-71) at Slugger Field.

Blake Davis singled with one out in the ninth, Dean Anna doubled to complete a perfect 4-for-4 effort and Andino scored both runners on the first pitch of his pinch-hit at-bat.

Trailing 3-2, Steve Selsky drew a walk off closer Andy Oliver, and instead of being forced at second on a potential double-play ball, took third when Chase d'Arnaud's flick to the bag sailed into the outfield.

Donald Lutz coaxed a bases-loaded free pass to tie the game and collect his 15th RBI of the season's series, seven more than the closest Bats batter in Bourgeois, who followed Lutz by ripping the game-winner down the first base line.

Tribe starter Rafael Perez pitched scoreless ball in four of his five innings, faltering only once on a two-run homer in the bottom of the third. He capped his Tribe debut tied for the best ERA (1.77) among all Pittsburgh Pirates farmhands since the beginning of July.

Inserted into Louisville's rotation slot after a game cancellation earlier this week, Josh Smith also went unblemished in all but one of his six total innings.

At 73-71, the Tribe closes the book on a year in which it broke franchise's all-time single-season attendance mark, and notched its fourth consecutive overall winning record.
