Belleville Bulls News Release

BELLEVILLE, ON - Training Camp got underway on Thursday morning at the Yardmen Arena as fans got their first look at players trying to crack the 2014-2015 roster.

Metcalfe Jets Jr. B goaltender Connor Hicks got the nod for Team White and Charlie Graham started in goal for Team Black as players took the ice for the first scrimmage of the day. Remi Elie, Brody Morris and newly aquired Brett Gustavsen put home a goal each to give Team Black a 3-1 lead after 30 minutes of play. Bulls draft pick Nick Prestia was the lone scorer for Team White.

Brock Tufts from the Deseronto Storm took the net for Team White and Eastern Ontario Wild's Cole Ceci started for Team Black in the second half of play. A tip in from Michael Cramarossa opened the scoring for Team Black as they continued to step on the gas. Goals from Jordan Crocker, Josh Supryka and two more from Cramarossa to complete the hat-trick put Team Black ahead 8-2. Alex Yuill added one more for good measure to close out the first of two scrimmages on the day. Adam Laishram was the only scorer for Team White in the second half of play. Final score, Team Black over Team White 9-2.

Thursdays second scrimmage was a very different story as a Team White was looking to even up the series. Brock Tufts started in goal for Team White and Cole Ceci got the nod for Team Black. Vaughan Kings Defenceman Cole Candella opened the scoring on a penalty shot to put Team White on the board early. Their lead didn't last long as Team Black quickly tied things up thanks to an easy tap in from Matt McJannet. Continuing their momentum, Andrew Ming buried the go ahead goal for Team Black as they lead 2-1 after the first 30 minutes of play.

A goaltending change saw Charlie Graham start the second half of play for Team Black and Connor Hicks for Team White. Newly named Captain Jake Marchment lead by example and potted a beauty for Team White to lock things up at 2. In the dying minutes of the scrimmage Whitby Wildcats winger Will Ward put home a rebound on the doorstep to give Team White a late 3-2 lead. Seconds later Aaron Berisha added the insurance marker as Team White battled back to 4-2 victory.

With the series knotted up at 1-1 your Bulls are back in action Friday morning at 9:30 as Training Camp scrimmages continue. Thanks to all the fans who came out and showed their support!
