The American Association announced today that Winnipeg Goldeyes infielders Casey Haerther and Tyler Kuhn have been selected as 2014 post-season all-stars.

Haerther, 26, has been selected as the all-star first baseman. He is third in the league with a .360 batting average. He also has 12 home runs and 71 RBI, which is three away from a career-high. Haerther has shone at Shaw Park this season, hitting .394 with seven home runs and 40 RBI. He represented the Goldeyes as the starting first baseman for Team North in the 2014 American Association All-Star Game in July.

Kuhn, 27, has been selected as the all-star shortstop. He's second in the league with a .361 batting average and 147 hits. He has hit .384 and four of his five home runs at Shaw Park. With runners in scoring position, he's batting a team-leading .375 in 112 at-bats. He represented the Goldeyes as the starting shortstop for Team North in the 2014 American Association All-Star Game in July.

Since the Goldeyes joined the American Association in 2011, Chris Roberson is the only other Goldeyes player to be named a post-season all-star. He was the all-star centre fielder in 2012.

The Goldeyes play their final 2014 regular season game tonight against the Gary SouthShore RailCats at 7 p.m.

Winnipeg begins their American Association Divisional Series with the Lincoln Saltdogs Wednesday night at Shaw Park. Game 2 is slated for Thursday. Both games are scheduled for 7 p.m.
